This Week’s Blog Feature- The Dating Diva’sMarriage is not a noun; it’s a verb. It isn’t something you get. It’s something you do. It’s the way you love your partner every day. -Barbara De AngelisConfession time… I’ve been married for 13 years now and I have to admit that I love my husband to pieces, but being creative with our date nights has become a little challenging. Heck, I’m good with dinner and a movie; anything that gets me a night out away from my routine as “mom”. I know many of you can relate, right? But let me ask you all something. When was the last time you put forth the effort to make your date night a little extra special? When was the last time you went out of your way to do something creative to express your love to your hunk of burnin’ love? Let’s just say, I won’t be answering that question! I’ve been thinking about this all week, and I’ve decided that with taking care of the house and the kids, that sometimes, unfortunately, the most important relationship doesn’t receive as much attention as it should, and THIS is the reason why I love this week’s blog feature so much! The Dating Divas are here to save the day (for me, at least)! The Dating Divas are 12 beautiful diva’s that all realized they were letting “life” take over and not focusing on their relationship with their spouse as much as they should (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?). They decided that they would each put forth the effort to plan fun, creative, and inexpensive dates and then post them on a blog to share with each other. And now, lucky for all of us, we get to enjoy their creativity and planning as well. Each of their dates posted includes any of the instructions, game pieces, recipes, invites, and there’s always a ton of free printable tabs to help you recreate their date. For instance, “These are a few of HIS favorite things” date is one of my favorite ideas recently shared. Corie, one of the beautiful divas, took the time to give her spouse one of his favorite things each day of the week. Attached with each little gift was a cute poem (free printable available) and then at the end of the week they went to dinner and spent the rest of the night listening to her husband’s favorite music and talked about the songs they loved and why. She said the best thing about this date was celebrating the things that her husband loved. This is definitely something that I need to do to celebrate my husband. What a memorable date and such a great idea! |
